Pension Clicks

In this edition of Pension Clicks, we round up recent pensions news in In Sight, ask how well trustees understand fees, and explore why giving up the link between liabilities and gilts is not as simple as it sounds.

In Sight – May
Our quarterly summary of UK pensions issues includes the Green Paper on DB pensions and a number of changes that took place in April, as well as a round-up of other news. Following publication, some provisions were unexpectedly dropped from the Finance Bill. In particular, the reduction in the money purchase annual allowance (pg 3) and the income tax exemption for employer-arranged advice (pg 4). The government has indicated it intends to legislate for these at the start of the new parliament.
